New CBC Undergraduate Spotlight: Seraphina Bandaru

Meet a new CBC Major, Class of 2030! 

"Hey Wildcats! My name is Seraphina Bandaru, and I'm from Oro Valley, Arizona! I graduated from Salpointe Catholic High School here in Tucson in May 2026, and I am thrilled to be attending the University of Arizona because of the incredible opportunities it offers. I'm majoring in biochemistry on a pre-med track, and one of the biggest reasons I chose the University of Arizona was its Tier 1 research opportunities. During my freshman year, I joined a research lab that studies elemental sulfur, polymers, and nanocomposite materials, which has been an exciting and rewarding experience. I've always planned on pursuing a career in medicine and hope to become an internal medicine physician someday. At the same time, I'm also passionate about neuroscience and look forward to exploring that field further. I also plan to apply to the Franke Honors College soon. Outside of academics, I've always enjoyed creative and extracurricular activities. Growing up, I took swimming lessons, did volleyball, ballet classes, and taekwondo. Most of all, though, I love playing the violin! I've been playing since fifth grade, and I joined my high school's string orchestra during my junior year of high school. Music has become one of my favorite ways to express myself, and I'm excited to continue growing both academically and personally during my time at the University of Arizona. I'm looking forward to becoming a part of the class of 2030 and getting to meet everyone! Bear down!" ~ Seraphina
