CBC Continues to celebrate Black History Month by sharing stories of our students.
Imani Ralph is a Biochemistry B.S. major set to graduate at the end of this semester, class of 2025. She is currently working in Dr. M. Leandro Heien’s lab, where she is developing chronic electrodes for detecting dopamine, specifically within rat brains. Imani chose the University of Arizona because it’s close to home and is known for having a strong pre-medical community. After graduation, she plans to take two gap years before attending medical school, with the hope of conducting clinical research during that period. Imani draws inspiration from her sister, who remains optimistic and continues to progress forward despite facing hard times. She is proud to be a black student in her degree and on her path towards medicine!
