Dylan Dyer from LabMonti has been awarded an NRC Research Associate position at the Naval Research Laboratory!

Congratulations to Dylan Dyer from LabMonti for being awarded an NRC Research Associate position at the Naval Research Laboratory in the Acoustics Division! This is a nationally competitive postdoctoral fellowship for outstanding scientists.

“I will study how maximum entropy methods can be used to make prior knowledge and uncertainty explicit when modeling and predicting ocean systems. Rather than focusing only on fitting data, it highlights how existing understanding of physics can be systematically incorporated in a way that complements Bayesian inference. By extending how these methods are applied in challenging areas like underwater acoustics and geo-acoustic inversion, my work will demonstrate a more transparent and rigorous framework for environmentally informed inference and prediction in ocean science.” ~ Dylan.
