Dr. Thomas Gianetti’s Startup Secures Wildcat Philanthropic Seed Fund Investment

Congratulations to Professor Gianetti and his team at CarbeniumTec for being one of the first companies selected to receive investment from the Wildcat Philanthropic Seed Fund, following a rigorous application and vetting process.
CarbeniumTec is developing a sustainable, metal-free, and environmentally friendly redox flow battery to address the need for large-scale, longer-term energy storage, which is also sustainable, less expensive, and more competitive in the market. This technology is based on the research of Dr. Thomas Gianetti and Dr. Jules Motet in the Gianetti Lab. Established in 2022, CarbeniumTec was co-founded by CEO Thomas Gianetti, CTO Jules Moutet, and Tucson entrepreneur and TLA commercialization partner Philip Lacovara, now serving as COO.
The Wildcat Philanthropic Seed Fund (WPSF) was launched by Tech Launch Arizona (TLA) in 2023. The fund is dedicated to helping startups commercialize University of Arizona innovations.
