CBC Alumni Spotlight on Elizabeth Restituyo

Elizabeth Restituyo Biochemistry PhD, 2015, Research Mentor (Indraneel Ghosh) 

"Since graduating, I have built a rewarding career in the biopharmaceutical industry. After beginning my professional journey in Tucson, I relocated to Puerto Rico in 2016 to join Amgen, where I have had the opportunity to grow into my current role as a Principal Product Quality Leader. Over the years, I have led drug product development and technology transfer initiatives, supported global regulatory submissions, and collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to bring innovative therapies from development to commercialization. It has been incredibly fulfilling to apply my scientific training to projects that ultimately improve patients’ lives while continuing to grow as both a scientist and a leader. 

Since relocating to Puerto Rico, I got married and am now raising three wonderful children, who bring endless joy and keep life exciting. Balancing a meaningful career with family life has been my greatest accomplishment. I also feel incredibly fortunate to have stayed close with the amazing friends I met during my Ph.D. at the University of Arizona, friends who have truly become family (Javier Castillo Montoya, Ricardo Palos, Mahsa Ghaffari, Guillermo Ariza, Gabriela Fernandez , Iman Daryaei and Cyf Ramos). We recently had the opportunity to reunite, and it was a wonderful reminder of the lifelong friendships and memories that began during our time in graduate school." ~ Elizabeth
