Research Support Services Keck Facility
Research Description:
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Research Support Services (RSS) maintains ten multi-user research facilities and shops, dedicated to enhancing the quality of education and research for faculty, staff, and students in CBC and the broader UArizona community. As the Director of RSS, I supervise the RSS unit managers who are experts in their fields. RSS welcomes you to contact any of our managers with questions or requests for services. Come and brainstorm your next breakthrough with us!
Staff Scientist in a multi-user imaging and materials characterization facility, W.M. Keck Center for Nano-Scale Imaging. I train new users, help with experimental design, image or analyze submitted samples, maintain facility instrumentation, modify and up-grade facility instruments when needed, guest lecture in graduate courses, and teach an annual AFM workshop. Instruments housed in the facility include two atomic force microscopes (AFM), scanning electron microscope, spinning disk confocal fluorescence microscope, FTIR spectrometer, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and a custom built attenuated total reflectance spectrometer.
