Congratulations to Bryce Wilson for being selected as 1 of 2, 2024 September Students of the Month!
Bryce Wilson was nominated by Natalie Rawlings.

"At the recent Undergraduate Journal Club meeting, Bryce really took the lead and showed tons of initiative that I think is worth recognizing. Not only did he pick out the paper we covered in the meeting today, but he also crafted an amazing presentation to introduce club members to the paper. For some club members, this was their first exposure to an actual scientific paper where they were expected to understand some of the figures and present them in depth. Bryce helped guide students through this paper and took the lead in facilitating discussions about certain figures, making sure to include freshmen who may have not had much experience with scientific literature before.

I am in several other classes with him this semester, namely MCB 480 (Systems Biology) and BIOC 463a (Biochem lab), and in both classes I’ve seen him become a leader. Many students consult him for questions or help, and he’s always approachable and has an answer for them. I am appreciative of how engaging he is as a fellow student and how effective he is as a Vice President of my club. It was quite rewarding to have a successful meeting as a new club on campus, and I know I couldn’t have done it without him. He’s an excellent resource for underclassmen just getting involved in biochemistry and research, and his efforts to be approachable and friendly while being an effective leader should be recognized!" - Natalie Rawlings
