Meet a CBC Teaching Assistant: Amanda Marchi.
Amanda is a second-year PhD student in Organic Chemistry, and she serves as a teaching assistant for Organic Chemistry 243A and 243B. In this role, she leads pre-lab safety briefings and technique overviews, demonstrates experimental procedures, and supports students by working through reaction mechanisms, spectroscopy problems, and synthesis strategies. She enjoys helping students navigate challenging material and is especially motivated by moments where complex concepts finally click. Amanda also values connecting laboratory protocols to real-world applications through clear, engaging explanations and analogies.
