CBC Preceptor Spotlight: Chase Valentine

"My name is Chase Valentine I am a junior, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, and a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies. I have been a preceptor for a number of classes now, and this semester I am working with Dr. Archuleta in her Intro to Biochemical Research class. As a preceptor in this class, I help students with their in-class activities during our discussion sections. We are working on our final projects right now, so mainly I help troubleshoot or guide people through using Alphafold and ChimeraX. My favorite part of being a preceptor is by far seeing when my peers "get it," and when their eyes light up for something they're passionate about. For some inspiration, know that you can always do your best. Your best doesn't have to be perfect, but if you're giving it an effort, that's all that matters. As one would say in Japanese, 「頑張って！」 or  "Gannbatte, do your best!"" ~ Chase.
