On April 16th, the CBC team was invited to present at the College Academy for Parents (CAPS) event held at Apollo Middle School. The invitation came from Susan Towne, Outreach Counselor for CAPS. Paul Lee and Vincente Talanquer presented for the English-speaking and Spanish-speaking parent groups, respectively.

Additionally, CBC Ambassadors Melvin Lopez, Ivanna Zuniga and Madison Grahams shared their insights on what it is like to be in STEM at the University of Arizona. After the presentations, parents were invited to participate in hands-on science demonstrations. Activities included building "Fruit Batteries" and making "Slime," offering a fun and interactive way to connect with science.

The program targets underrepresented and underfunded school districts (particularly Sunnyside School District) and helps educate both the parents and children about college. The primary attendees are low-income, minority, and first-generation students and the goal of the program is to inspire these students as early as possible to explore college as a primary option.
