Tomat Laboratory Receives New Grant from NIH
April 10, 2024
Congratulations to Professor Elisa Tomat on receiving a new research grant from the National Institutes of Health!
Through the Maximizing Investigators Research Award (MIRA) Program, the $1.84M grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) will fund a 5-year research program in the Tomat laboratory focused on “Coordination chemistry approaches to target cellular metal dysregulation.”
Through this new MIRA grant, the NIGMS supports ongoing efforts by Dr. Tomat and her research team to enhance the impact of metal-binding approaches in anti-cancer drug discovery and, more generally, to investigate the role of iron and other transition metals in human disease.
