Meet Michelle Lay, a CBC Graduate Student:

“Hi! My name is Michelle Lay and I am from Jakarta, Indonesia.

"I am a 4th year biochemistry PhD candidate, and my research in the J. Schwartz lab is focused on understanding the role of the transcription factor EWSR1 in regulating global R-loops population and how it affects overall genomic stability.

"After graduation, I want to keep pursuing science through research. I am a foodie, and outside of the lab I like to experiment in the kitchen. Cooking is like running an experiment, following a protocol and tweaking things until it works out!”
