Meet Ayobami Adegbenro, who is a new CBC Graduate Student.
"My name is Ayobami Adegbenro, and I completed my undergraduate program at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (First Class Honours). In the short term, I aim to complete my coursework and pass the qualifying exams within the first year, setting a strong foundation for my research endeavors. I also intend to identify a research focus and find a suitable advisor within the first 6-12 months, allowing me to dive deeper into my area of interest.
Upon completing my PhD program, I intend to transition into a career in industry, where I can apply my expertise in biochemistry to develop innovative therapeutic approaches for various diseases - my goal is to contribute to the advancement of human health and medicine. I am delighted to begin my PhD program at the University of Arizona and I am excited to explore the resources, mentorship, and opportunities that the department will provide."
