CBC Teaching Assistant Spotlight: Katherine Gold

CBC would like to showcase our fabulous Teaching Assistants. Introducing Katherine Gold who is a Teaching Assistant for Chemistry 182 (General Chemistry Lab for Majors).

"I am the instructor for a 3 hour weekly lab section. I present a pre-lab lecture, assist the students through the lab period, and grade their assignments. Each week I hold office hours to offer additional support. My favorite part of being a TA is helping students gain new information and skills, and the resilience necessary for success. I stress to my students that success is not merely a reflection of their "smarts", but mostly their hard work and persistence. It is very rewarding to watch students grow. I have fond memories of the TAs who taught my college labs, specifically Vimbai Mawoneke (math), Cassie Wang (physics), and Lauren Benedetto (chemistry). I hope to emulate the same love of learning and enthusiasm that these women provided and leave a lasting impact on my students."
