CBC Student Spotlight: Benjamin Maldonado

Student Spotlight on CBC Undergraduate

Hello! My name is Benjamin Maldonado, upcoming junior majoring in Biochemistry with minors in Nutritional Sciences and Spanish. I am not in a research lab yet but plan on joining a team upon my return in the fall, preferably researching fields relating to protein interactions/synthesis.

I graduate in the spring of 2025, also super excited to become an ambassador and peer mentor for up and coming students! After completing my undergraduate degree, I intend to attend medical school and pursue a career as a cardiothoracic surgeon. I enjoy staying active during my free time, this includes going to the gym, playing basketball, golfing, hiking and when I’m back home in San Diego, surfing as well.
