In celebration of National Women’s History Month, the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is placing the spotlight on a few of our most dedicated and serving faculty, staff members, and graduate students, who operate behind the scenes in a multitude of roles for CBC.

Today we present Dr. Tori Hidalgo. Dr. Hidalgo began her career at The University of Arizona in 2003 working as a research specialist in Dr. Ann Walker's lab. In 2005, she began her graduate studies and earned her Ph.D. in 2009.

Dr. Hidalgo is now an Assistant Professor of Practice in the department and has been honored with the Distinguished Early Career in Teaching Award in 2007. Dr. Hidalgo was also honored with The University of Arizona Foundation Leicester and Kathryn Sherrill Creative Teaching and the Innovation in Teaching Award in 2021 for her efforts towards elevating the student learning experience in a large classroom.
