Annika Silverberg - Recipient of the Howard P. Klein Early Career Excellence in Research Award for '23-'24

Congratulations Annika Silverberg on being selected as 1 of 2 winners of the Howard P. Klein Early Career Excellence in Research Award for '23-'24!

"I grew up in Minnesota and went to a small, private college where I majored in chemistry and psychology. Research opportunities were limited due to the size of the school, so I was very excited to learn of the possibilities that the University of Arizona made possible. Since beginning my graduate studies at the UofA, I’ve been studying membrane protein-lipid interactions by developing new analytical techniques. I’ve learned so much in the past year, and this endowment will allow me to focus more on my studies without worrying too much about the financial strain of being a graduate student. I’m planning to work in the industry after getting my PhD, and I’m looking forward to donating to similar endowments at UofA to support graduate students in the future."
