Congratulations to Megan Laham for receiving the ARCS Scholar Award.

Megan will be officially recognized as an Alison Hunter Johnston Memorial Endowment Scholar. Alison Hunter Johnston was a founding member of the ARCS Arizona chapter. Megan will be invited to an Annual Scholar Awards Dinner in April where Megan will have an opportunity to present her research.

Megan is currently working in Dr. Gregory Thatcher’s group designing Nonlipogenic ABCA1 inducers (NLAIs) as Alzheimer’s disease therapeutics. Her latest efforts have been on understanding the mechanism of action of these NLAIs in the context of nuclear hormone receptors. The funding provided by the ARCS scholarship will help support Megan in the final year of her graduate studies.
