Steven is majoring in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Applied Mathematics at the University of Arizona. He is currently conducting research in Dr. Michael Brown's lab, where he is exploring the roles of water and lipids in membrane protein function using the visual protein rhodopsin, found in the retina, as a model. After his undergraduate studies are completed, Steven plans to attend graduate school and become involved in a biophysics research career. Outside of his academic studies and research, Steven has been involved with the CBC and College of Science Ambassadors, the Undergraduate Biology Research Program (UBRP), the Navigators, and the Biophysical Society Student Chapter. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, reading, watching classic movies, and playing piano and the trombone.
