Leah Ortega Selected as Student of the Month for Winter 2018-19

Leah Ortega (pictured right) is a dedicated senior double majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular and Cellular Biology. She also has a minor in Health and Human Values, and to top it all off, she is an Honors student.

This outstanding young woman is a CBC mentor to several students and has volunteered her efforts both through Mobile Medcats and at Sister Jose Women's Center. Leah's passion for the UA is exemplified by her efforts to recruit future student by giving campus tours with the Arizona Ambassador program, as well as being a Bear Down Camp Counselor. Nominator Angela Rivera says she could go on about Leah's commitment to Mortar Board, Alpha Sigma Alpha, and the numerous awards she has earned, but will end by saying that being involved in research and working an on-campus job have done nothing to deplete the sincerity Leah has to offer the world. Congratulations, Leah!
