Dr. Monti Recognized as Arizona Champion

Congratulations to Dr. Oliver Monti who was selected as an Arizona Champion by the Office of the Provost!

Dr. Monti will be invited to attend the UArizona president’s tailgate and football game when UArizona faces off against Washington State on November 19, 2022.

Arizona Champions are our incredible faculty and staff members at the University of Arizona who go above and beyond every day.

The following was shared regarding Dr. Monti’s nomination:

“Veterans Education and Transition Services (VETS) would like to express our grateful appreciation to Oliver Monti for their efforts in preparing our military veterans for the college classroom.

The University of Arizona is one of 22 elite universities in the nation to partner with Warrior Scholar Project. Each summer, transitioning military service members participate in a two-week academic boot camp in which they receive and immersive college experience of instruction, seminar discussions, assignments, and research projects that prepare them for the academic environment.

Oliver Monti served as the faculty coordinator for the STEM week of the Warrior Scholar Project. His lectures covering one-dimensional and two-dimensional motion provided students a foundation for the successful completion of problem sets, individual work sessions, and group research projects.

Additionally, he coordinated special STEM talks and demonstrations that introduced the students to various scientific topics. Dr. Monti's efforts were instrumental in empowering these students with the tools necessary for college success.”
