Soraya Sandoval

Soraya SandovalI am a senior double majoring in Biochemistry, and Molecular and Cellular Biology with a minor in French at the University of Arizona. During my undergraduate career, I have been studying the muscle regulatory protein, myosin binding protein-C (MyBP-C) in the lab directed by Dr. Brett Colson. My current project focuses on understanding the molecular changes induced by mutations associated with distal arthrogryposis found in the skeletal isoform of MyBP-C. Outside of the lab, I am a member of the Ritmos Latinos salsa dancing club, and CBC ambassador and peer mentor. After graduation, I plan to pursue a Ph.D. to study the molecular mechanisms of neurodevelopmental disorders.
