My name is Sara Jones, and I am majoring in Chemistry and triple-minoring in Environmental Science, Chinese language, and Environmental Engineering. I work with the Sierra Research Group from the ChEE department. My main areas of research are applying analytical techniques to identify and quantify contaminants of emerging concern in wastewater with respect to surface waters and groundwater. In the future, I hope to go to graduate school and obtain a PhD to pursue a career in wastewater research in academia. Even though a lot of my time is devoted to work and studying, I am quite active in volunteering for the Chemistry Club – a club dedicated to promoting science education within the Tucson community. I also enjoy playing PC games, drawing, and eating ice cream.
