Rachel Utterback

Rachel UtterbackI am a fourth year PhD candidate in the Tomat Lab, and I study the chemistry of transition metals in biology. I work on designing therapeutic strategies that target metals in cancer cells, and I am also looking into the redox reactivity of naturally occurring pigments. During my free time, I like to participate in science outreach activities through Program to Advance Women Scientists (PAWS) at the U of A and S.Y.STEM Coalition. After completing my degree, I hope to continue working in research related to drug design.
