My name is Michael Remesic and I grew up in Greenwich, CT. I received my B.S. in biochemistry at Central Connecticut State University and began my work here at the University of Arizona in 2013 under the direction of Dr. Victor J. Hruby. I have since switched disciplines to chemistry in which I am currently a 4th year PhD student. My research is focused on the design, synthesis, and biological characterization of peptidic opioids that bring about analgesia with reduced side-effects such as addiction and tolerance. Upon completion of my graduate degree, I plan on working for a pharmaceutical company where I can further this research and hopefully make an impact in the world. Favorite pastimes of mine include watching hockey, fitness, and traveling.
