I was born and raised in Izmir, Turkey. I received my B.S. degree (2011) in Chemistry from Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara and my M.S. degree (2014) in Chemical Engineering from Koç University, Istanbul. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Chemistry under the direction of Prof. Jeffrey Pyun at the University of Arizona. I have been working on mainly energy-related topics. In the Pyun Lab, I have focused on polymer-supported catalysts for hydrogen generation using water as a feedstock, high sulfur content polymers, and II-VI semiconductor nanocrystals. Outside of the lab, I volunteer at ACS Southern Arizona local section and enjoy watching soccer and basketball games.
