Melissa Harnois is a Senior in the University of Arizona Honors College and will graduate in May of 2016 with a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry and a minor in Spanish. She is currently working as a research intern for Sanofi in Oro Valley, AZ and serving as the president of the UA Biochemistry Club. She has been a club member since her freshman year and loves sharing her passion for science with the Tucson community through outreach. In addition, she enjoys helping younger biochemistry students navigate university life as a Peer Mentor and CBC Ambassador. On the rare occasion that she is not occupied with science-related or academic endeavors, Melissa spends the remainder of her time reading, hiking, traveling, or hanging out with her friends. Whether it be playing intramural sports, attempting to win trivia night at local restaurants (i.e. not come in last place), or taking frequent spontaneous trips to Cold Stone (because who can pass up their buy-one-get-one free coupons?), time with friends is something Melissa cherishes as she approaches the end of her undergraduate career. After graduation, she plans to work in the biotechnology industry to gain experience in various areas of research and then continue on to graduate school in the near future as well. Wherever she ventures, Melissa will undoubtedly remain a proud Wildcat!
