Matthew will graduate from the University of Arizona with a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular and Cellular Biology and a minor in English. He played two years for the UGA Bulldogs football team before transferring to UA to finish his career, where he earned First Team All-Pac 12 Academic honors, was named a Galileo Circle Scholar, and worked under Dr. John Jewett in the Jewett labs. His research focused on redox, and eventually electrochemistry, of a novel tyrosine tag with great potential application towards virology, particularly towards dengue virus cellular entry. After graduation, he plans to attend the Mercer University School of Medicine in 2018 to pursue a career in healthcare.
