My name is Luis Munguia, and I am a first generation university student, attending UArizona to obtain a B.S. in Biochemistry with a minor in biology and spanish. I have plans of possibly continuing on towards a masters. This scholarship has helped me by giving me more time to do research and study in the field that I find fascinating. It has also helped by providing me with funds for any material and equipment which I may not have been able to afford. My aspirations are to work with forensics science by helping to advance the field with things like more accurate DNA testing and matching. I also have goals of working in water treatment to ensure better drinking water for all people. I have worked on enzyme kinetics and ligand bound proteins. During my free time I help at BUMCT as a patient transporter or enjoy walking through Sabino Canyon.
