Congratulations to Ken Nebesny, who received the 2019 Staff Excellence Award at the College of Science Awards Luncheon held April 16. Ken Nebesny was born and raised in the Bronx New York.  A product of the Bronx Academy for Math and Science and Queens College, he came to the University of Arizona to pursue a Ph.D in Analytical Chemistry.  After receiving his degree from UA in the early 80s, he stayed on to manage the Laboratory for Electron Spectroscopy and Surface Analysis (LESSA) in the then department of Chemistry.  Later he took on the role of Director of Research Support Services in the merged department of Chemistry and Biochemistry (CBC) as well as a partial appointment in the office of Research, Discovery and Innovation (RDI) as Operations Director of Core Facilities. He is part of the CBC family as the go-to-guy for help with analytical instrumentation and dissertation editing.  Finally, even after living in Arizona for more than three decades, he still has his New York Accent.
