A native New Yorker, Jessica was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. She received a B.S. in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry from the State University of New York at Fredonia (Fredonia, NY). Her undergraduate research career began in the summer of 2010 through the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program at the University of Arizona (Tucson, AZ), and continued the following summer at the Institute for Protein Research at Osaka University (Osaka, Japan). Jessica came to the University of Arizona in 2012 to peruse a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, where she currently works as a graduate student under the direction of Dr. William R. Montfort. In her free time, Jessica loves taking advantage of everything Tucson (and the southwestern United States) has to offer. With desert hikes, amazing food, unique culture, and an endless supply of road trip destinations, living in Tucson never seems to disappoint.
