I am a native of Tucson, Arizona and a proud graduate of Sahuaro High School. As a junior majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular and Cellular Biology here at the University of Arizona, I have had the honor of being a part of the Honors College, CBC Ambassadors Program, and undergraduate research. Participating in research has given me an opportunity to shed insight on how to control Malaria transmission in mosquitoes. This study has helped us to understand how insulin signaling in mosquitoes affects the lifespan and reproduction of the mosquito. As an active volunteer in the community, I am an adult youth leader for the high school youth group of St. Francis de Sales Parish and I also donate my time and skills to Banner-UMC South Campus Primary Care Unit. I plan to go on to medical school and continue to pursue my passion for helping others. My hobbies include enjoying hikes in Sabino Canyon and Mt. Lemmon, reading numerous books and taking frequent leisure trips to Disneyland.
