Cristian Chavira

Cristian ChaviraCristian is a freshman majoring in Biochemistry at the University of Arizona's Honors Program. He is currently conducting research in Dr. Sweasy's lab, where he is investigating the role of cysteines in the function of the enzyme OGG1 in the context of cancer research. After his undergraduate studies are completed, Cristian plans to pursue a PhD in Biochemistry and become involved in a research career. Outside of his studies, Cristian is involved with the Navigators and the UA Chemistry Club. He also enjoys running and playing guitar.
