I am currently in my second year of the Biochemistry Ph.D. program at the University of Arizona. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Eastern Michigan University in 2016 with a B.S. in biochemistry. There I investigated the anti-cancer properties of anti-microbial peptides under Dr. Deborah Heyl-Clegg. I joined the lab of Dr. Michael Brown in Spring of 2018 and am currently studying the role of membrane lipids and water in the activation and signaling of G-Protein Coupled Receptors. G-Protein Coupled Receptors regulate a diverse array of intracellular signaling cascades, and are thus attractive drug targets. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, rollerblading, taking my dog to the dog park, and watching classic films.
