Andrea Peralta is majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular & Cellular Biology at the University of Arizona. She is participating in cardiovascular pharmacogenomic research at the Department of Pharmacy and Practice with Dr. Jason Karnes. She is involved in a pre-clinical study examining the pharmacogenomics of Hispanic populations prescribed the anticoagulant drug warfarin. After finishing her undergraduate degrees she hopes to attend medical school. Extracurricular activities she is involved in include training volunteers at the Emergency Department at Banner UMC, shadowing doctors, and communal activities at SAAF. She spends her spare time doing artwork or learning new dance techniques such as salsa, bachata, tango, and swing.
