Congratulations to Kate Parent, who received the Lela E. Booher Award for 2016. This award is for Upper-Division and Graduate Students majoring in Biological Science. Kate is a fifth-year graduate student in Analytical Chemistry working for Dr. Michael Heien. Her work focuses on developing instrumentation to measure neurochemical processes. She is an Arizona native who received her BS in Chemistry from Arizona State University in 2012. She expects to graduate in Summer 2017 and looks forward to pursuing a research career in instrument development or materials characterization. In her free time, Kate enjoys live music and theatre as well as hiking and generally enjoying the outdoors in AZ.
