I am in my final year as a PhD candidate and will be defending my dissertation this summer. I have been conducting research under the advisement of Prof. Douglas Loy for the last six years, and my research focuses on developing new types of polymer materials using tetrazines as chemical building blocks. My discoveries with this research have led to the filing of 4 patents, 2 provisional patents, and 6 invention disclosures so far, and I am anticipating a few more before finishing. While I currently have no free time, when I did I enjoyed traveling, hiking, attending concerts & other cultural events, and spending time with friends and family. I am eagerly looking forward to earning my PhD this summer and having the freedom to live that lifestyle once again.
