Yueyan Frida Zhang is currently a 4th year PHD candidate in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Her work in the lab of Dr. Jeffrey Pyun is the study of making novel materials for energy storage and optical devices from elemental sulfur. Her work is focused on expanding the scope of sulfur polymerization by using new and inexpensive monomers to introduce new functional groups to sulfur material. By making liquid polysulfide with an easy and scalable approach, different types of monomers can be screened and the property of sulfur material can be tested.
In her personal time, Frida enjoys reading and K-pop dancing.
