My name is Clay Arrington and I am a senior at the University of Arizona majoring in Chemistry. I have served U of A's Chemistry and Biochemistry department as an ambassador and mentor for undergraduate students. I have been working as an undergraduate researcher in the Professor Pyun's research group in CBC. The group's research focuses on utilizing polymers as active materials in next generation Li-S batteries. My specific project involves the synthesis of new organic copolymers for use in the Li-S batteries. I previously presented my findings at the 2015 CGC Undergraduate Poster Fair and received the Viewer's Choice Award. I recently was accepted to multiple Ph.D. programs focusing on polymer chemistry and will begin my graduate studies in Fall 2016. Eventually, I aspire to work in industry, developing new application of polymers and creating new polymeric materials.
