Calley Eads

Calley EadsI am currently a 4th year PhD candidate in the research group of Prof. Oliver Monti. My research project aims to understand critical processes occurring at novel interfaces: organic semiconductors coupled with 2D layered materials. 2D layered materials have blossomed into a new and exciting class of materials that have caught the attention of fundamental scientists as well as device engineers for their unique layer-dependent properties. My work focuses on the response of the 2D layered material in different molecular environments probed by spectroscopic means. Apart from research, I sit on the Admissions and Recruitment Committee, and I am an active member in the Alpha Chi Sigma Professional Fraternity. I enjoy leisurely reading, pottery making and playing board games during my time away from the lab.
